Warsaw conference "Women Leaders of Ukraine"

5/1/2023

The important conference "Supporting Women Leaders of Ukraine" in Warsaw has come to an end. The majority of participants were volunteers from various parts of our country. I was impressed and amazed by the valuable experience that ordinary women can gain from the former First Lady of Poland, Yolanta Kvasnevska, who, together with her foundation @porozumiebezbarier, does everything possible to support women. Company executives and psychologists helped us understand that we are doing important things, realize our worth, and prepare for the challenges we will face after the war, as well as determine what we can do right now.

The "Porozumienie bez Barier" (Agreement Without Barriers) Foundation, founded by Jolanta Kwaśniewska, the wife of former Polish President Aleksander Kwaśniewski, has a mission to support people with disabilities and promote their rights, dignity, and equal participation in society. The foundation regularly organizes various initiatives and events, such as education campaigns, workshops, conferences, and social activities for people with disabilities, to achieve its mission.

One particular story stood out to me. Some Polish educators are attempting to apply a new approach in child upbringing. They noticed that in many fairy tales, the princess always needs someone to save her. She simply lies idle or waits for someone to come to her rescue. But in reality, the princess could gather her strength and utilize her abilities to escape the situation, assemble a drone, or come up with another solution. This story reminds us that before seeking help, we must ask ourselves what we have already done to find a solution, acquire the means or weapons. It is a rhetorical but crucial question in our time.

Once again, I emphasize: together towards victory! With collective efforts, we can achieve far more than individually. Nothing will change on its own; we must take action. In times of challenges and war, we must work even harder and invest maximum effort.
